Ferrari 550 & 575M Maranello

Fitted with an alloy 5474cc V12 with 48 Valves, variable inlet geometry, four camshafts, dry-sump lubrication, variable back pressure exhaust system in combination with drag coefficient of 0.33 allowed F550 to achieve top speed of 300 KM/H. Permormance was balanced by safety features like great weight distribution - 50:50, traction control, selectable electro-hydraulic suspension, power steering and ABS. An open version - 550 Barchetta was also available. it was introduced at Paris Motorshow in 2000.

In April 2002 it was replaced by the 575M(for Modificata) Maranello. Engine capacity raised to 5748cc as well as power output from 485 BHP @ 7000 RPM to 515 BHP @ 7250 RPM.
