Steven Spielberg
Childhood
Spielberg was born on december 18, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to father Arnold Spielberg and mother Leah Alder. His father worked as an electrical engineer while his mother performed as a concert pianist. The couple later divorced, after a chain of affairs. Throughout this hard time Spielberg spent his spare time wathcing television and shooting around the backyard with the family's camcorder.
Spielberg has a relatively large family. His divorced parents both remarried giving Spielberg a stepmother (Bernice Colner) and stepfather (Bernie Alder). Spielberg is also on his second marriage and has six children. One with his first wife actress Amy Irving whom he divorced in 1989. His other five children are with current wife actress Kate Capshaw. Spielberg and Capshaw are seen left at an awards show.
Family Work Spielberg has been interested in film making from a young age. Even as a teenager he excercised his talent by shooting around in his backyard. Spielberg even made and edited a hommade film, funded by his father, making a one hundred dollar profit. The movie that made Spielberg really famous 1975 hit film Jaws. With that great movie under his belt spielberg went on to direct many other huge hits which have made Steven Spielberg a continued household name.
