Artemis is the Goddess of the hunt and protector of children. Her symbols are bow and deer. Her Roman name is Diana. She is the virgin goddess of the hunt. She helped women in childbirth but also brought sudden death with her arrows. Artemis is generally depicted as a young woman covered in buckskins, carrying a bow and a quiver of arrows. She is often accompanied by wild creatures such as a stag or a she-bear.

Artemis' brother is Apollo and they are both the children of Zeus and Leto. One time Apollo noticed that Artemis was spending a lot of time with a giant named Orion. Apollo didn't like this so he challenged Artemis to prove her skill at archery. He had her shot at a target that turned out to be Orion's head, her shot was perfect.
