Description:

The Red Fox is almost the size of a dog. It has sharp pointed face and ears, and very strong body. The tail is large with bushy and coat of lustrous land fur. Male foxes are larger than the females. The adult red foxes weight between 3.6 and 6.8 kg. The lenght of adult red foxes between 90 and 112 cm. The called the "red fox," because their fur is red. The red foxes has variety of shades. The back of red foxes have faint darker red line. The red foxes have black paws, black behind the ears, a faint black muzzle, white or light undersides throat, a white tail tip, and white stockings. The red foxes have a sharp bark to warn other foxes.

 

Food:

The red foxes eat variety of food. Mostly they eat small mammals such as voles, mice, lemmings, squirrels, hares, and rabbits. The red foxes also eat plants in the wild. When the red foxes went to the area of water, the red fox can catch trout. The red foxes can catch trout weighing between 1.5 and 3 kg. The red foxes leaping from the shore to the shallow water where the red foxes can see the school of fish in the shallow water. The red foxes also eat the food that hide under the ground fo later use, but other animals often fine and use it first. The red foxes also eat seal pups, beaver, reptiles, fruits and garbage. Diet:

The red foxes diet changes with the seasons. In fall and winter, they mainly eat small mammals. In the spring time, the red foxes eat nesting waterfowl, prairies. In the summer time, the red foxes eat insects and berries. The red foxes can eat an eggs and chicks.

 

Den:

The Red Foxes den measure between 4 and 8 Km2. When the red foxes have a pups, they will find the den to keep that pups to be safe. They found the den that are woodchuck burrow, a cave, a hollow log, a patch of dense bush, or a customized exacavation under a barn or other structure. Usually, the red foxes live in the den that made of in earth with grass or leaves. It insulate the whelps from dampness and cold. The red foxes may have more than one entrance, becuase if there are attack going on, the red foxes can escape easily to other entrance. They usually in the dry, sandy soil.

 

Pups:

The pups usually born from March through May. The size of the pups are about five and the vixens (female red fox) can get as many as ten pups or less. Some of the pups are born with blind, because their eyes are not open yet. The vixen is very playful, patient, and solicitous. The vixens took a lot of responsibily on pups before their eyes are open. The father of the red fox will go out to hunt to get the food for them. When the pups' eyes are open, they begin to crawl. The vixens then go out to get the food for them. About one month later, the pups have a chance to learn how to play about the den entrances. Their parent go out to get a small materials for the pups to play a game. They do that, because it teaches the pups how to eat it and smell the prey. About two months later, their parents teach the pups how to hunt in the tall grass and feed them in the den.When the pups are able to feed themselves and hunt. About three months later, they will go out by themselves to live.
