Range:

They live in Northern Africa, across the Sahara, Sinai peninsula and Arabia.

 

Description:

Their colors are cream to sandy yellow with white edges and some black ticking. Its color blend with the desert sand. The tail is lightly black tipped and the vibrissae(whispers) are long and black. Their eyes are very dark.

 
Physical Descriptions:

Their, height is 8 inches and length is 24 to 40cm. The tail is about 25cm; Fennec foxes ears are 15cm long.They weight 0.8 to 1.5 kilograms.

 

Hunting:

They hunted large insects like beetles and locusts.They also hunted small rodents, lizards, birds, and some plant material.They eat berries and leaves.

 

Diet:

They eat freshly killed mice or chicks and some fruits. They eat them in zoos.

 

Den:

The Fennecs den is burrowing under the rocks piles and roots of brush. The burrows has several entrances. Foxes may live together in the den.

 

Pups:

One litter is born once a year. After 50 days, usually 2 pups are born. Parents share their work with the pups. The pups open their eyes in about 2 weeks and nurse them for a month. When the pups are old enough, they become independent. The den is used over again because the pups grew up and might have pups of their own.
