Northern Cardinal

Traits

The northern cardinal has a heavy, red, cone shaped bill. It's body is mostly red with a black facial area. The black facial area only surrounds the bill and the eyes. It had slightly browner wings and tail with whitish tips.

Habitat

The northern cardinal is a non-migratory bird found all year round in woodlands, swamps, and suburbs. It can survive in these areas during the winter due to low body temperature.
